Guilin and Yangshuo should be planned as a cluster, not collapsed into one city card. A classic trip sleeps in both Guilin and Yangshuo, uses the Li River as a one-way experience, and adds either Yulong countryside or Longji with weather flexibility.

Li River core cruise
漓江精华游The official one-way cruise follows the celebrated karst corridor past Nine Horse Fresco Hill, Yellow Cloth Reflection and Xingping scenery.
Core cruises start at piers outside Guilin and end in Yangshuo. Sailing, pier and route conditions change with water and weather; use the scenic area's current ticket and closure notices.

Yulong River countryside
遇龙河田园Quiet karst countryside, villages, bridges and riverside paths create a slower land-and-water contrast to the large Li River cruise.
Bamboo-raft sections use specific piers and can close for conditions. Cycling or walking remains a different experience; confirm the exact product and endpoint.

Longji Rice Terraces
龙脊梯田Mountain terraces and Zhuang and Yao villages add cultural landscape and altitude to the river-centered trip.
Longji is a long road transfer from Guilin and is not near Yangshuo. Choose one village area, check seasonal field conditions and consider one night.

Reed Flute Cave
芦笛岩A developed limestone cave gives a close view of the geology behind Guilin's above-ground karst scenery and works in poor weather.
It is a ticketed cave outside the central lakes. Confirm current tour entry and lighting schedule rather than treating it as an open walk-in site.

Used by selected high-speed services; it is not the same station or district as Guilin North.

Despite its name, the station is near Xingping and requires a substantial road transfer to Yangshuo town.

Guangzhou
Guangzhou adds a major international gateway and dense Cantonese city experience before or after the landscape cluster.

Guilin & Yangshuo ↔ Guangzhou

- About 2–3 hours to a Guilin rail station
- Station choice
- Guangzhou South connects with Guilin North and Guilin West. Yangshuo Railway Station is near Xingping, not central Yangshuo, so it should not be treated as a direct hotel transfer.
This connection links Guangzhou with the wider Guilin–Yangshuo cluster. Add the road transfer between the chosen base and rail station, and do not place a fixed Li River cruise on the same day as the long transfer.
The range is for common direct high-speed services to Guilin. Search Railway 12306 for the exact date; verify local transfers independently.
