We see the Italian Style Area as an architecture-and-history choice: its villas and former residences tell different stories from its present-day leisure businesses. Judge its appeal by that combination, rather than expecting it to represent all of Tianjin.

Our reason to consider the Haihe is the urban setting as well as the water. The official river guide highlights the historic financial buildings near Jiefang North Road; a cruise is one way to see the area, not the definition of the experience.
