- The garden, bazaar and City God Temple area are not one admission product, even though they sit together.
- Its compact scale rewards slow looking; walking only through the commercial streets does not substitute for the garden.

Area and base implication
People's Square, East Nanjing Road & the Bund is the current editorial Puxi base for the Huangpu visitor core, but it is not a hotel-at-the-garden-gate claim. Keep Yuyuan's old-city entry separate from Pudong planning and from the assumption that every central Shanghai sight is in one walkable micro-neighborhood.
